Waste haulage, coming Summer 2026.
Compliance-first matching for waste carriers, roll-on roll-off operators and skip lorries moving general waste, recycled material and hazardous loads.
The challenge
What we're solving for waste
The Duty of Care under EPA 1990 requires shippers to use licensed waste carriers — but verifying EA registration before every booking rarely happens.
WTNs are legally required for every waste movement but are frequently incomplete, incorrect or missing entirely — leaving shippers exposed to enforcement action.
Hazardous waste requires consignment notes and pre-notification to the EA — a process that's currently managed manually and error-prone.
Vehicle types
Typical vehicles for waste
Roll-on Roll-off (RoRo)
Demountable skips for bulk waste. 10–40 tonne payloads. Flexible for site clearance, demolition waste, and industrial waste streams.
Tipper
For loose waste, soil, C&D waste. 20–30 tonne payloads. Requires waste carrier registration for commercial waste movements.
Skip Lorry
Smaller skip collection (2–8 tonne). For construction waste, domestic clearance and commercial waste.
Compliance
Compliance requirements
BulkMatch will verify all of these at haulier sign-up and re-verify at renewal.
Operator Licence (O-Licence)
Mandatory for commercial vehicles over 3.5t. Verified against DVSA at sign-up.
EA Waste Carrier Registration
Mandatory under EPA 1990 for commercial waste movement. Upper tier for professional carriers. BulkMatch will verify against the EA's Waste Carriers Register in real time.
EA Producer Registration (Hazardous)
Required for producers and carriers of hazardous waste. Digital consignment notes will be generated by BulkMatch for qualifying loads at launch.
